Happy Birthday Griffin!

6 months ago today, I was only a few hours from seeing you for the first time. I was so tired, but so excited that we were going to hold you so soon.

In the 6 months since then, you've grown so much. You roll over, you can sit up, you eat cereal and green beans. You love music and jumping up and down. You've been on vacation and on a plane. You've been to work with mom more than once. You get more and more handsome everyday. You're a talker. You babble and scream and say "da da da da" and "buh buh buh buh." You're super smart. You love baths. You love to be scared. Inappropriate words make you laugh.

We're glad you're here, buddy. You were worth the wait!

Croup, Croupy, Croup, Croupy, Croup

Yes, that blog title is referring to Salt N Pepa. Holla!

Anyway, Griff has croup. Croup! It sounds horrible. I picked him up at daycare yesterday and they told me he had been coughing and it sounded bad...maybe I should take him to the doctor. Well I took him to the pediatrician that night, and he has croup (which some kid at daycare had last week).

So what does him having croup mean?
1. He sounds like a barking dog.
2. He sleeps with his humidifier on.
3. He is on steriods.
4. He was banned from daycare today.

Normally, being banned from daycare wouldn't be that bad. I could work from home and it would all work out. But of course, Griff gets croup on the day that I had 4 interviews scheduled and I can't reschedule. I managed to luckily find a sitter in the AM (thank goodness for good friends) but no luck in the PM. I took him to work for an hour - someone watched him while I did a quick 40 minute interview. He didn't cry, so he was a pretty good baby. Whatta man that Griffin is!

Oh the life of a working mom!

Dress Rehearsal

We can't believe how big Griffy is getting...he's eating his cereal like a big boy, he's rolling over, he's grabbing everything in sight, and he's even sitting up (for a very short time before flopping over to the side :)

But as big as we think he is now, I can't even imagine him in 6 months or a year. This weekend, we had a little dress rehearsal of what life will be like when Griff is 14 months old. Babysitting overnight for our friends' daughter, Audrey, we got to chase her around and watch her be such a big girl. Kids that walk are about a thousand times more tiring than our Griff, who is demanding and sometimes cranky, but not very...mobile! :)
