Even Moms Need Moms

I still think it's weird that I'm a mom. Not BEING a mom, just being CALLED a mom. Even though I'm already a mom, I still love being with my mom! And now Griffy loves being with his Lola (and his Lolo).

Reach Out and Touch

Squirt's newest trick? He's really getting into watching things then grabbing. Picking up your cell phone? He's watching, then grabbing. Hair hanging down in your face? He's watching, then grabbing. Eating with a fork? He's watching, then grabbing. Happen to wear glasses or earrings. Oh dear, you guessed it. He's watching, then grabbing.

We love watching his motor skills develop day by day and get more and more defined. But it does bring on a bunch of new problems :)

Bad Habits, Good Nights

Well, it's been three months since you've had a Griffin sleep update and a lot has changed.

Back in the day, we couldn't even get him to sleep in his bassinet. He only wanted to sleep in his carseat or his swing.

Not anymore! He sleeps in his bassinet no problem. Of course, the nights of good sleep and uninterrupted sleeping through the night come at the expense of bad habits. He's addicted to being swaddled. That kid will wake up every two hours unless I swaddle him like a little burrito.

Second bad habit...I feed him to sleep. I know, I know. It was just so easy to do back in the day and it's just become our routine. But now, it's come at the expense of naptime during the day.

We're trying to cure those bad habits little by little. Any advice how we can do it?

And tonight - a milestone - the first time he is sleeping in his room, in his crib. It's bittersweet. I'm excited for him to use his crib and to get my bedroom back. I'm sad because it means he's already growing up.

Absentee Mother

Well I'm not an absentee mother...I'm an absenteer blogger because I'm a mother. I know I had been bad about updating, but it wasn't until today that I realized that I hadn't updated in THREE MONTHS.

That's ridiculous.

So blogging buddies, I apologize. I will be better. Not that I've gotten the hang of this mommything (at the moment), I will update at least once a week. I promise.

Promise.
