Things to Be Thankful For

So I'm a few days late from Thanksgiving but there are a few things I'm especially thankful for...

1. not having to be on progesterone. yech. well worth it, but the side effects are...horrendous.
2. not throwing up every night and not feeling nauseous every 10 minutes.
3. feeling the baby move a lot lately.
4. Squirt having great taste in music.
5. childbirthin' hips.
6. a great ob/gyn and team
7. an even better husband that puts up with me and lets me get away with a lot because I'm pregs.

and the most important....
I'm thankful that we're able to get through to the second trimester without any drama. After two miscarriages and three D&Cs, we're so happy to be able to have Squirt reach all of these great milestones.

Maybe Our Kid Will Be this Cute!

Proud Papa!

Mark the date...Billy finally felt Squirt move!

Squirt moves a ton at night, but usually Billy can't feel it or Squirt stops when he tries to put his hand on my belly. But tonight, Squirt was going crazy. I attribute it to watching 30 Rock...Squirt seemed to move around the whole time we were watching it!

I'm Having Twins!

Not really. But Squirt does have a friend in there.

More than a week ago, I was having a pretty persistent pain in my upper back. It didn't really feel like my normal preg back ache, but I didn't think it was a big deal. But I did tell someone at work that it basically felt like someone had punched me in the kidney.

I went to the Crew playoff game that night, where they scored a goal, and I jumped up to celebrate...then promptly fell back down to my seat again. Ouch. That weirdly hurt.

That night I woke up in the middle of the night in excrutiating pain where it felt like I was being stabbed in the back.

So I went to the doctor and...Squirt has a new buddy. Christened Rocky, my kidney stone has been hanging out for more than 11 days now and refuses to pass, even though I'm drinking an absurd amount of water.

Do you think that Squirt and Rocky have gotten so used to hanging out together that they don't want to part??

Jazz Hands!

So we've established that Squirt is most likely a boy.

Which concerns Billy about what I expose him to. Like New Kids on the Block concerts, driving to Pittsburgh to watch Wicked, watching Mamma Mia! and High School Musical 3 in the theater, and the Twilight screening at the midnight showing on Thursday.

I'd like to think that Squirt is going to be well-rounded. Billy is a little concerned that Squirt spends 24/7 with me and my questionable taste in entertainment.

He likes to balance it by saying, "Sports, Beer, Hot Girls!" to my belly. It doesn't matter...Squirt won't care about stuff like that...he'll be into jazz hands and Broadway!

The Latest Hobbs Adventure

Billy and I have managed to fit a bunch of adventures into 5 years of marriage. Living in Hawaii, traveling cross country, buying a new house...and now the latest - the introduction of Squirt.

Squirt is due to make his appearance on April Fools Day. Which is funny since Billy and I are such jokesters. And because it's the dog's birthday.

Note that I said Squirt will make "his" appearance. Yes, I am positive Squirt is a boy. Which means Squirt is probably a girl because I'm positive he's a boy.

Before you ask...no we don't know what Squirt is yet. And yes, we are finding out. And yes, we will tell you when we know. I don't think Billy and I need the added surprise of not knowing what the sex of the baby is - I'm pretty sure that day is going to be pretty shocking anyway. :) Seriously, though, we're both control freaks and there's no way we could go through the whole pregnancy without knowing.

So we hope you'll come with us on the biggest adventure yet....
