No Horsin' Around

How come no one tells you this stuff before you get pregnant?

First...you're not pregnant 9 months...it's like 10 MONTHS! I didn't sign up for that!

Second...kidney stones are common...HUH? Shouldn't this be disclosed before you get pregnant?

And two nights ago, I found out another of these little pregnancy gems. Charliehorses! Two nights in a row, I've been woken up by excrutiating leg cramps! I mean, everyone talks about nausea, back aches and all that. But what about all this extra junk??

OH I did forget to tell you... yes, leg craps. All you can do is try to stand and cry! And yes 40 weeks or more = 10 months.

There is also heart burn, acid reflux and funky hair growth...

You must read a Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy and Girlfriend's Guide to the First Year... they tell the truth, don't read anything else!

BTW - I'm loving Squirt's taste in Music!

Hmmm, yes, forget that one as well. I got those all the time too. And Shine's right about the funky hair growth. I had some mad tummy hair/fuzz going on. Thankfully magically it went away after Ali was born!

Glad I'm learning all of this BEFORE I decide to have babies!

OH and your ankles go far far away to far off distant land for the last month of the pregnancy and the first few weeks of the baby's life. My feet were so big and fat that I wrecked my birkenstocks!

I'm drinking like 70 oz. of water a day to try to drown the charliehorses. So far, so good - 2 nights with no cramps, although my leg is still sore from the other night.

Tummy fuzz...check!

Fat ankles...no check...yet!

if we all disclosed everything, our species would die out :)

good job on the water...water cures everything...but if cold water gives you heart burn, drink warm water. :)

funky hair growth now, major hair loss after birth--watch out for that one. it scared me! I'm 5 months post-partum now and still losing handfuls in the shower. joy. give everything a year to get back to normal--or to find a new normal, like with your feet (mine never did go back to size).

AAAAAAAAAAHHHahahahaha!!!
Nobody told me about that stuff either. I had to find out the hard way too. :) Except my kidney stone turned out to be Ethan. Literally. They thought I was just having kidney stone complications but there was no kidneystone, just Ethan ready to come out and giving me "back labour". James had the rest of the symptoms for me - the heartburn, the massive weight gain and the cramps.
